Where’s Santa! Tonight’s the night…

“Where’s Santa?” is asked by children all over the world. Tonight’s the night. Did you know that you and your children can check the NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) site to see where Santa is right now?! Click on the NORAD screen shot below:

Where's Santa

Santa was over Australia as I wrote this

According to the NORAD site, NORAD’s predecessor, CONAD (Continental Air Defense Command) , began to track Santa in 1955. NORAD replaced CONAD in 1958 and took over the mission of tracking Santa’s flight around the world, and they have been tracking Santa every year since!

More than 1,250 Canadian and American uniformed personnel and DOD civilians volunteer their time on December 24th to answer the thousands of phone calls and emails that flood in from around the world. In addition to the support provided by our corporate contributors to make this program possible, NORAD has two lead project officers who manage the program.

The site includes video’s, games and a FAQ section that answers questions that children have asked. Check it out – It’s a great way to keep the kids entertained while they are waiting for old Saint Nick!

BTW, yes Virginia, there IS an app for that!
