I was back to Shackleford Banks yesterday. I hadn’t been there since 2013. A new little foal is what grabbed my attention this time and it is always fun to see the wild poinies. This little guy was born about a week ago. I saw others photos of him and just knew that I had to go and get some of my own. I made that decision at around 10PM on Wednesday evening. I quickly went online and made a ferry reservation for 8:30AM the next day and the rest is history, as they say. If you follow me on Facebook, you will have seen some of these photos but I decided to do a quick post for those of you that aren’t on Facebook.
There were quite a few ponies around and they were quite close to the ferry landing. That was good for me because I didn’t have to walk too far in the heat. Weather here has been downright hot!! There was another group a ways off but I din’t get any photos of them. Here’s a few more photos. The little one bugging another horse that wasn’t his mom. Maybe it was auntie. The horse with the brown mane seems to be talking to himself. Probably saying, “Wish these darn tourists would leave us along”. 🙂 Last photo is some of the ponies, including the little guy eating in the swamp grass.
That’s it for tonight. I have a photo club meeting in the morning. There are a few more photos in my photo gallery. Click HERE to see them. The ones that you see here plus a few others are located there. Well, here’s my ride home!!
