I took a walk the other day on the Cedar Point Tideland Trail. This trail is my favorite place to walk and practice photography. The trail goes through a salt marsh and through the woods. Bridging has been built to cross the marshy areas.
This day, there was not much activity, but I was pleased to see that the ospreys were active and flying overhead. It was a great day for a walk but other than the ospreys, I didn’t see any other birds in the marshy areas. Pretty unusual but walking on this trail is such a joy that you forget that walking is exercise. The ospreys kept me entertained with their antics.
As I got back to my car, I checked the old nest from last year much to my delight, there was an osprey in the nest. I walked across the road to get nearer to take photo’s when the other osprey showed up, dipping and diving as it came in. What followed was something that I had never seen and should have been a private moment for the ospreys, BUT there I was with my little Canon SX50. 😉 I thought that I would share the photo’s with you. Please remember that I am still learning to shoot with the Canon.
Well, I didn’t know what I was photographing to start with but by the time it was done, I realized that I had photographed the ospreys private moment. Now I am sharing it with all of you. Nature is so fascinating.
