We had made the decision to extend our loop another year and I was missing seeing the kids and granddaughter so we left for a whirlwind trip to Maine. We left on Friday morning and we were back on Monday evening. The trip from here in Brewerton, NY to our son and granddaughters home was less than 400 miles and then a bit further to daughters home. MUCH better than traveling 1000 miles to get there once we are back home in NC.
We took the scenic route through Vermont on the way. Although we saw the pretty covered bridges, streams and lakes along the way, the following three pics were my favorites.
We visited and took our granddaughter off to the mall for a quick school shopping trip. We stayed in Freeport while there and had dinner at the Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster Company on Saturday night and at Cook’s Lobster House on Baileys Island on Sunday night. As an aside, Cook’s had MUCH better haddock. It was cooked to perfection. Visiting the Maine shore was nice too. Our time was short but it was so nice to be able to see everyone.
These were just a few pics that I took on the weekend. There are so many photo opportunities on the coast. So what was the very best part of our trip? You probably guessed it already! Our beautiful granddaughter! So glad that you made some time for us, Miss K.
