Day 32 of my 365 photos…This cardinal with his bum leg was one of the first cardinals that ever showed up at our feeder. I remember thinking, at the time, that he would not be around long since he had the disadvantage of that leg. Silly me – he is doing fine and we’ve been seeing him for two years. He does struggle a bit at times, especially if he is on the feeder with the perch but he usually manages to stay for a while and get those sunflower seeds.
Today was a really yucky day in her North Carolina so I spent a lot of time watching the feeding frenzy that was going on at the feeders. Oh yeah, I did take a few photos too. 😉 I thought I would share some of the photos of my favorite Cardinal. Note his leg on the following photos. All of the photos were taken through the windows. WAY too icy and wet to go outside today.
BTW, at one time today, there were four female and two male Cardinals vying for the food in the feeder. I was hoping they would all pose in the nearby tree for me to take their pic but they were much more interesting in eating to keep warm. How many days until spring??
