Welcome to day 302 of 365 photos…Last night, as the moon was rising but still below the trees in my backyard, I set the camera on the tripod and played around taking photos of the night sky. My night sky photos are not great but not too bad either (at least in my eyes 🙂 ). My backyard is not the best place to take photos of the sky because of the ambient light in the neighborhood. I am hoping that we make it to Maine next summer. Camp is out in the middle of nowhere and the night sky is dark, dark, dark. That will definitely be the best place for night sky photos but for now, I will practice here at home. So here’s what I came up with. They are all before the moon came over the trees. Once the moon came up, it looked like daylight outside.Camera: Nikon D7100 – Lens: Nikon 18-300mm
Focal Length: 18mm – Aperture: f/3.5 – Shutter Speed: 15 seconds – ISO: 100
There was a satellite or a plane going through on this one. I think it looks kind of neat. Do you?
Glad that you stopped by my self-project of a photo a day for 365 days. If this is your first time to my site and you wonder what this 365 days of photos is all about, click HERE to read the original post. Settings are added to the photos so that I can remember what I’ve used and can see if any future photos done with other settings turn out better or worse. Remember, this project is all about my learning more about photography.
Check out E-liz Treasures to see what my friend in Maine is doing with her daily photos.
Comments are always welcomed. I would love to hear from you.
