This little bluebird taking a bath made me not only smile but I laughed out loud at all the antics. I think that his bath time was very important to him but so entertaining to me! For the first time since we lived here, we did not have bluebirds using our nesting box but the babies and adults that are in the area, seem to love the birdbath. When I took these photos, this young one was all alone. I hope you enjoy his bath-time antics as much as I did. I will post a couple of photos separately but be sure to watch the short slideshow at the end. That will show the sequence. While drying, he scratched, he tilted his head back and forth and upward, then shook some more – all the while hoping back and forth on the pole. This is how he looked when he first left the birdbath.
Doesn’t he look clean now? I hope that you enjoy these photos as much as I did.
It has come to my attention that this slide show is not working as expected for everyone. For some of us, it is fine but for others it is wonky. Since I do not have an extra copy of the slideshow to fix it, I will leave it on here for those that it does work for. I apologize if you are one of the ones with a wonky slideshow.
