I did it!!! Yesterday ended my 365 photo project and not only did I do it, but so did my friend, Liz of E-liz Treasures. Who woulda thunk it? 🙂 Certainly not us!!
It was mostly fun but sometimes a chore to get a daily photo. Sometimes I found three or four things to photograph and sometimes I struggled to find one. Sometimes the photos were great and other times – well, they were just a photo! I made mistakes but sometimes I learned how not to make them again. There were so many lessons learned. I am so much more aware of things around me and often find myself framing a scene in my mind, even when I see it on TV. (that’s just weird, huh??) I see shadows and light that I never noticed before. A few of the more specific lessons learned:
- Became more familiar with my camera and settings and when to use them
- Began to shoot RAW
- Discovered that I liked other types of photography besides just birds and wildlife
- Learned more about my surroundings–there are so many things to photograph right in the surrounding area
- Became more proficient in Lightroom and a few plug-ins
- The more you learn – the more there is to learn
I have met a LOT of interesting people and made new friends. Small talk is not my forte but with a camera in hand, I don’t seem to have a problem. Go figure!
Would I do another 365 photo project? No, I don’t think I would (although I never say never). It is a huge commitment. Although it is something that I wanted to do, it was a LOT of work and very time consuming. I’d take the photo (and may have traveled to get it), processed it and put it on the website. I was never happy just putting a photo up and forgetting it so I ended up writing something about it. Most days just flew by! Luckily for me, Mr. B is very understanding. He ignored the dust and those times that I got home too late to make dinner, he would go get a pizza. He doesn’t cook but he has that trip to Dominio’s figured out. *grin*
Will I still be putting photos up on this website. Of course I will! I am pretty proud of how far I have come with my photography in the last year but I still have a lot to learn. For now, I will be doing a bit more housekeeping and things that I let slide in the past year. Sounds good in theory! We will see how that works out for me. *grin*
For those of you that have been following the site, thank you and please don’t go away – there is much more to come. Posts may not be daily but look for them on a regular basis. Be sure to “like” my Facebook page, Moosetique Musing, where I also share my photos. Below is the only photo that I took today. It just didn’t feel right putting a post up without a photo. 🙂
American Goldfinch through the window this morning. Did you know: “Goldfinches are among the strictest vegetarians in the bird world, selecting an entirely vegetable diet and only inadvertently swallowing an occasional insect”. Source: allaboutbirds.org
