2016 boats – a few of my fav’s.
It is no secret that one of my favorite subjects to photograph is boats or sometimes parts of boats. I LOVE shrimpers which was pretty apparent as I was going though my photos to find my 2016 boats favorites. So here they are – big boats, little boats and some in between. Hope that you enjoy.
I took the photo below in Beaufort, NC. We just happened to be driving though that day and I wanted to see if there were any wild horses on Carrot Island (there weren’t) but as we continued though town, I noticed the sun setting though the sailboats. Score!!

Capt. Phillips is located in Swansboro, NC. I have taken a gazillion photos of it since we moved here. It is one of the favorite boats to photograph.
The photo below was taken just after a storm while the water was still churning. It was just off the beach at Fort Macon. You never know what size boat that you may see. I found a skiff tied to the dock on Cedar Island, a ferry going down the ICW in Cedar Point, where they don’t normally travel, and this fella painting the USS North Carolina in Wilmington. I had an easier job – I just pointed the camera and took the shot. His job was much harder than mine.
Last but not least – remember, I said they come in all sizes. This was on the on the beach near the ferry dock on Cedar Island. Love when I find these treasures. That’s it for this batch. So glad that you stopped by. Stay tuned for some of my other 2016 favs, coming in a few days.
